(no subject)

Even though I know that Lightning_Mouse is seeing a doctor and that mom has lightened up a bit doesn’t help much. I still know that my little sister has anorexia and there is nothing that I can do, its like swimming in a world pool and knowing that there is no one to save me from the truth.

When Lightning_Mouse was younger my greatest fear was that she might also have to live with dyslexia, the learning disability that I have. When ever I pray for her I end up crying because I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. A few days ago she had a heat stork, at the time I did a google surch (sp) on anorexia. To my relief the heat stroke wasn’t directly related to what happened, but I did find out that if her body Tempter starts to drop dramatically that there is a reason to worry.

I just want my sister to get though this so that she don’t have to live with the consequences of her eating disorder, so far everything that I have readed (sp) on it is very upsetting . For instance on of the consequences is bone loss, if that starts happening Lightning_Mouse will have to give up soccer and dance class. As far as I can tell soccer and dance class are as important to her as writing is to me; so I would never want her to be in a position where she was forced to give them up, when all she has to do to keep participating in these activities is to take care of herself.

But though it all the hardest part is knowing that she is only 12 years old and that this disorder mainly effects young girls. That makes me wonder abought what our society is telling our girls and women. A few of you might be old enough to recognize the name Twiggy, if not here is a link http://www.geocities.com/twiggysophie/twiggy.html . Anyway our society seems to reword women for being skinny and not only that it encourages it. just think about it when was the last time you saw a large women posing on the cover of a popular magazine? I can’t think of any examples, however I know at least one large women and she is beautiful (no I am not a lesbian, however I am able to find beauty in the members of my sex with out being ashamed of it. I also like men, but only the once that respect women)

Anyway for those of you who are interested in learning more about anorexia check out this link http://www.mamashealth.com/anorexia.asp and remember if a friend or loved on is suffering from this disorder the worst thing you can do is just stand by and watch . Pray for them and encourage them to seek help before the disorder gets even more out of hand then it already is. And pleas pray for Lightning_Mouse with me, you don’t know how much I would appreciate it if you did.
