December 21st, 2005

It’s that time of year again and Christmas is right around the corner. It’s a time for family and friends to come to gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus, light the menorah, or participate in other holiday traditions.

During this time I am thankful that my brother is able to spend some time at home before he leaves for South Africa. Even though I disagree with him on a lot of things and wish that he didn’t have so many grievances against the Catholic Church, I still love and am prude of him.

I have also been making some head way with my writing and am prude to say that I might be able to turn out a complete ruff draft of one of my stories some time next year! ^_^ it’s like Jimmy Cliff says “You can get it if you really want.”

And I really want this, that means that I am going to have to work hard and show my family that this is more then a hobby to me. It’s my dream to become a published author some day.

But enough about that, I just hope that my mom and dad stop yelling at my little sister when she doesn’t eat enough. Not only because it drives me crazy when they do but also because that can’s be good for her confidents. Some times I just wish that I could do something more for her then hope and pray that things will get better for her, its at times like that when I have to remember the power of prayer.

Narnia

If you haven’t seen The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, I highly recommend it! Even though it isn’t nearly as good as the original made for TV movie back in the 1980’s it still conveys the same Christian messages and is a delight for young and old.

I didn’t remember until now but it was those old movies based on The Chronicles of Narnia that inspired me to start writing, hum now that should explain where the word Nadaria came from at least it does to me. And yes my villain, Jezebel is heavily based on The White Witch, but there are some big differences. After all I wouldn’t want to steal from C. S. Lewis.

I am familiar with some of C. S. Lewis’s other books in the Narnia series and he might have had more influents on me then I am currently a where of. For that one can only hope that I finish the first book which I intend to do with patients and maybe a little help with editing, I know some one who might be able to help me if she has time (You know who you are).
